Thorough review. I wasn't a fan of mine and returned it. The bad thing about Gerber is a lot of the components are now made in China and it shows in the quality. I got a $10 tool for $40. It doesn't close evenly, can opener wasn't ground correctly, wire cutters are useless, and there's a lot of slop in the entire tool. The case also wouldn't stay closed.
It's not much better than the $10 Chinese tool I got at a flea market. You surely get what you pay for and these days it's not much.

another BIG plus, that i'm not sure was mentioned here, is that the 2 main blades have thumb studs for single handed deployment. just picked it up today. by far the best multi-tool
under $30.

Mine is the older one and was made in the USA, I love it. I am a welder by trade and it gets a real work out, better then an 80 dollar leatherman as a wire
cutter and the blade locks are wonderful. I have had mine for over 5 years of heavy everyday use.

Just a couple points I've learned from having one of these for more than a year now. The Awl/Mini Screwdriver sucks as a screwdriver. First time I used it out of the box to screw something in, as soon
as I torqued it the tip snapped off of it. Wasn't even applying that much pressure. But hey, it's sharp pointed now so the awl feature works better. The vertical loop on the sheath does rip very easily. I carry mine horizontal now. Despite those issues, it's still my EDC multitool though.

gerbers are great but they are not made in the use at all, the company is based in portland(my hometown) but the actual tools and
knifes are all made in taiwan, its a bit of alet down, i prefer stufffrom us, gettin hard to find though
